If you’ve been in Melbourne the past week since our list of Christmas themed ideas for Roll Around the Block, you’ll have noticed one thing – summer is well and truly here. The long, hot days have arrived and the light… so much beautiful sunshine! With that in mind, this would be a great week to capture summer in the city on a Roll Around the Block with little ones, so today I’m sharing a list of cityscape photo prompts for little photographers.
Summertime is fantastic for photography for kids to creatively capture light and shadows on their camera and this week’s list is about photographing those as well as other things you might see in the city. Together let’s capture the beautiful streets of our city in summer through the eyes of little photographers!
If your little ones are getting up with the earlier sunrise on these summer days and they’re old enough to operate a camera/device alone, why not encourage them to capture the morning glory quietly to start their day? Mr Little took this shot above in a roll while he was watching hot air balloons at dawn and it was a truly gentle start to the day. For more Roll Around the Block inspiration, you could also check out our friends at Meetoo who recently did a Roll Around the Block at Birrarung Marr.
Happy snapping and don’t forget to upload your little one’s favourite photos to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #rollaroundtheblock so they can be in the running to be featured at the NGV in January 2014 as part of the NGV’s summer blockbuster exhibition Melbourne Now!
