Who else thinks this bear pictured is simply fabulous? Titled "Tell me when you're ready" this bear is part of an installation currently on display in the Federation Court at NGV International by Italian artist Paola Pivi. It's a balmy summer night and the circus is in town. I'm standing in front of the big top where OVO, the Cirque du Soleil show currently touring Australia, will be performed later this evening. The bright yellow and blue of the big top rises up to the Cirque du Soleil flags, accompanied by the national flags of Australia and Canada. It takes me a few minutes to notice that behind the big top runs one of the most prominent and busy traffic bridges in Melbourne. Such is the presence of Cirque du Soleil and its ability to draw one into the moment, forgetting all else.
